A winner of nine straight, Jake Shields (20-4-1) of San Francisco and Nick “The Goat” Thompson (36-9-1) of Minneapolis, who has won 12 in a row and 21 of 22, will collide for the vacant EliteXC 170-pound belt. In the main event, Robbie Lawler (15-1, 1 NC) of St. Louis will defend his EliteXC title against Sacramento’s Scott Smith (13-4, 1 NC) in an eagerly awaited rematch of their controversial first fight in May on CBS which ended in a No Contest.
